He had seen how often people were left disappointed by overpriced quotes, poor workmanship and jobs that never lived up to the promise. AJ Brickwork was built to be the opposite of that, and today he works alongside a small team of experienced bricklayers.
From small garden walls to full house extensions and new builds, the business has grown almost entirely through word of mouth and repeat customers. Traditional craftsmanship, fair pricing, and a clear honest quote with no hidden extras.
The old boundary wall came out and fresh footings were dug along the full length of the frontage. What went back is a new red brick wall with a pier, sitting level and square to the pavement.
Front walls are one of the most common calls we get, whether the old one has been pushed over by tree roots, clipped by a vehicle, or simply worn out. We will tell you honestly whether it needs rebuilding or whether repointing will do.

I cannot recommend Anthony at AJ Brickwork highly enough. I contacted him after a window company advised that I needed outer leaf lintels installed as part of fitting new windows, which could have resulted in a cost of thousands of pounds. Anthony took the time to come out and properly inspect the window openings.
After having a terrible job done on the front of the house I reached out to Anthony for help. He was incredibly accommodating and came to view the job as soon as he could. He talked me clearly through all the options to fix and answered all my questions with great advice. Anthony and his team did a brilliant job fixing the brickwork, replacing the lintel and all the other jobs needed. Neat, tidy, quick and clear communication.
We'd had tree roots destabilise our garden wall. Anthony and his team did an amazing job, his quote was the best value of those we got, we got to choose the bricks that would match the rest of the property and they delivered a really high quality of work, working really hard the 2-3 days they were here. It's made a big difference to the look of our house. Professional and hard working, we'd recommend them to anyone.
The back wall of my house was bulging, with cracked bricks, Anthony did a great job in removing the bricks and rebuilding the wall. He was meticulous in sourcing matching bricks for an old terraced house. Whilst there, and this was a job I had not booked in advance, he redid the steps to the front door, making them much easier to step up and look so much nicer!
Anthony was professional, polite and very prompt throughout. The work involved a collapsed wall falling onto a public footpath, so it was quite an urgent situation, and he responded quickly to help make the area safe and arrange the work without delay. Communication was good throughout, the price was very reasonable, and the work was organised efficiently.
AJB built our driveway pillars and threshold, where previously we had a terrible bumpy scruffy edge to our property and gravel going everywhere from our drive - now we have a smart-looking, level threshold for our driveway, ready for us to hang driveway gates. He worked hard for 4 days and was punctual, tidy, professional and a perfectly pleasant person to have around.
AJ Brickwork did an excellent job repairing my brickwork. The mortar between the bricks had become quite old and worn, and weeds were starting to grow through the gaps. AJ took out all the weeds between the gaps and the areas that could damaged my wall, repointed two sides, and the finished result looks great. They started work just after 8am each day, and completed the job over two days as promised.
Anthony has done a lot of work on my house, which needed major structural repairs and brickwork tidying up. One of the biggest jobs was taking down and rebuilding the full gable end to the structural engineer's specifications. This was completed quickly, to a very high standard, and Anthony kept in contact with the engineer throughout to make sure everything was done correctly.
Anthony built a small extension for us which we couldn't be happier with! Throughout the job he was tidy, thorough, considerate of our neighbours and kept us informed throughout. The end result is exactly what we asked for. Highly recommended his work.
